The town of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, the ancient Capua, hosts an archaeological museum which houses all the findings coming from the recent excavations in the area.
The building hosting the archaeological museum is organized in different rooms and offers a wide variety of findings dating from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age, the Etruscan and the Roman time.
Close to the Museum there is also an interesting Mitreo, an underground room which was originally used as a temple dedicated to Mithra. The frescoes representing the god killing the bull is still well preserved and very beautiful. The room hosting the temple is still decorated with frescoes and still preserves the seats where the followers of Mithra attended the ceremonies.
This tour can be associated with a visit to the Roman Amphitheater which is the second largest in Italy and/or to the Royal Palace of Caserta.
